I Am Alive and Well

By Dr. Joe Vitale - January 27th, 2007

I spent Friday in the recording studio reading my forthcoming book “Buying Trances”. I came home exhausted but eager to review my email and work on a new project or two.

But my computer refused to let me in.

It didn’t recognize me.

I took it as a sign to take the day off.

But the computer won’t work today either.

My tech genius came out and declared Windows corrupted my user identity. It will need major surgery to fix. He left with my baby. I’m typing this on my Blackberry.

What’s happening here?

Last weekend’s Zero Limits event turned me inside out. I’ve been processing it all week. Apparently I still am.

Even my computer doesn’t recognize the new me.

What is Mary Pickford’s Long Lost Secret?

By Dr. Joe Vitale - January 24th, 2007

See that breathtaking picture?

At one point that was going to be our new living room.

That’s a shot inside Pickfair, the mansion once owned by the founding father and mother of Hollywood.

The gold framed picture is a signed photo of forgotten silent film star Mary Pickford. It’s in my private collection.

The smiling picture is also of Mary Pickford, taken in 1929.

This other picture is of a rare old Chinese made cigar humidor once owned by Mary. I won it in the recent Pickford estate auction. It arrived today.

Why do I sometimes collect Mary Pickford items?

At one point I thought I was going to write a book about Mary and her lost business secrets, much as I’ve done for circus showman P.T. Barnum in There’s a Customer Born Every Minute and BBDO ad genius Bruce Barton in The Seven Lost Secrets of Success.

I may yet do it, too.

Mary Pickford was America’s Sweetheart, capturing the imagination of the public as “Little Mary,” the teenager with spunk, in countless silent films in the early 1900s. She was charming, big eyed and perky.

She married famous swashbuckler Douglas Fairbanks, and with slapstick king Charlie Chaplin and director D.W. Griffith, they formed United Artists. It was the first movie production company run by people who acted and directed. Mary and her team were the founders of Hollywood.

Pickford and Fairbanks were a world famous couple and the closest thing to royalty that era had ever seen.

Their famous estate in Beverly Hills, called Pickfair, went on the market a few years ago and I almost bought it.

Today, Pickfair stands as a majestic Venetian mansion with high ceilings, ballroom size living room, formal dinning room, master bedroom suite and three family bedroom suites, sweeping balconies, indoor spa and Jacuzzi with dome glass ceiling, massage room, hair salon, gym, disco, state-of-the-art 35mm theater, guest quarters featuring a three bedroom apartment, security guard offices and subterranean parking for additional 15 vehicles.

The original swimming pool remains as the showpiece of this 2.7 acres site that overlooks the magnificent views of Beverly Hills, the Pacific Ocean, Santa Monica Mountains, and the skylines of Century City and Los Angeles.

Just walking room to room in Mary’s old castle would be a workout.

I’ll settle for her humidor today.

But someone really needs to write about her as a strong business woman.

Mary died sad, lonely, alcoholic and virtually forgotten.

Yet her business genius helped create an empire. We can learn from that. And her.

Too many greats like Mary Pickford fall through the cracks of history, and we miss out on their insights and secrets to business success.

“You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call ‘failure’ is not the falling down, but the staying down.” - Mary Pickford (1892 - 1979)

Way Beyond Zero Limits!

By Dr. Joe Vitale - January 22nd, 2007

I’m wiped from the weekend into bliss.

It was the world’s first Zero Limits event with Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len and myself talking about cleansing the unconscious memories we all share so we can receive Inspiration.

The entire event went way beyond even the forthcoming book, Zero Limits.

I’m at a loss at how to explain the weekend.

For one thing, putting words to it will limit it.

For another, it was entirely experiential.

People who have been around the block in terms of personal growth, self-improvement, and spiritual work, found the weekend to be the deepest work they had ever experienced.

One man released bottled up rage. Of course, the way Zero Limits work, is that as he releases it, so do the rest of us. Little pockets of volcanoes went off in the room as he shared how he used the tools Dr. Hew Len taught us to cleanse his own being.

Again, the event went beyond all understanding.

The good news for you is that we filmed and recorded the entire seminar. When the audios and DVDs are available, I’ll let you know.

If you want to know when the next Zero Limits event will be — and there’s no guarantee there will ever be one again, as Dr. Hew Len is up in age and (as he says) would rather sit at home and grow old — send a blank email to zero@aweber.com

Ao Akua,

Joe

PS — Everyone who attended the event received an advance rough copy of the next Subliminal Manifestation DVD created by Mark Ryan and myself. This one focuses on sales. The first one is on love and forgiveness. Both are based in the teachings of Dr. Hew Len and Zero Limits. We sure live in exciting times.

Going to Zero

By Dr. Joe Vitale - January 19th, 2007

I’m headed out the door to co-lead the world’s first Zero Limits seminar with Dr. Hew Len.

The event sold out without me ever mentioning it to my list. It’ll be standing room only this cold weekend.

We’ll record the entire historic event, of course, and make the audios and DVDs available later.

Meanwhile, you might want to check out the new “Zero Limits” inspired clothing over at www.cafepress.com/drjoevitale/

Just go there, click on the “Zero Limits” image, and you’ll see a wide variety of products, from T-shirts to mouse pads to even a throw pillow.

These are products that help “cleanse” you as you wear them or have them near you.

Imagine putting your head on a pillow that cleanses your mind as you rest.

The clothing, pad and pillow are energetically charged; you should feel it even as you review the items.

More than that, the image on the shirt and pad, etc., contain the “magic phrases” that help you release everything between you and what you want.
Sound crazy?
Maybe so.
But what if it actually works?

Ao Akua,

Joe
www.mrfire.com

PS - The above image is of the throw pillow. That’s what I’m going to order first from www.cafepress.com/drjoevitale/ It and everything else there was designed by Nerissa, based on an original image designed by my webmaster, Victor, and based on the ideas in my forthcoming book, Zero Limits. Go see. Thank you.
PPS - If you want to be informed of the next Zero Limits event with me and Dr. Hew Len, send a blank email to zero@aweber.com and you’ll be added to the alert list.

Hypnotic Buckling

By Dr. Joe Vitale - January 17th, 2007

The picture where you can see my gym was taken yesterday.
The picture were you can’t see my gym was taken today.
Leaves and tree limbs have so much ice on them that they are buckling and breaking. I can’t walk down my driveway let alone drive down it.
Not only are Texans not used to a winter like this, but even Texas trees aren’t.
Wherever you are, stay warm.
Ao Akua,
Joe
PS — My Hypnotic Writing book became a top 100 Amazon bestseller today. Even ice can’t stop the Internet for long. See http://snipurl.com/HypnoticWriting Please support my efforts to make the book a top ten bestseller today by getting a copy or two and telling friends about it. The published version that came out today is an updated, expanded, and enriched new version of the famous e-book, now containing more information — including a complete section of Hypnotic E-mails — including advanced as well as basic secrets — and revealing my own tried and true persuasion (with love) formula. Thank you.

Awake in the Dark

By Dr. Joe Vitale - January 17th, 2007

The power went out this morning.

All the snow and ice has taken its toll here in Central Texas.
A winter storm here sends everyone into a panic. No one knows how to drive in snow or ice. Cities don’t have sand to throw on the roads. Banks, mail, Fed-X, UPS and others are closed. Up North most people know what to do when winter hits.
Not here.

The electric company is much the same. They aren’t prepared for snow and ice. So it’s not any real surprise that the power went out.

I walked around with a flashlight in the dark house this morning, feeling the cold, missing my coffee, and being sure everyone was okay. I tried to call the power company but their phone lines were overloaded with other callers reporting their own blackouts.

I decided the wisest thing for me to do was to go back to bed.

As I lay there, I mentally chanted the ho’oponopono process I learned from Dr. Hew Len and explain in our forthcoming book, Zero Limits.

I simply kept saying, “I love you, I’m sorry, please forgive me” and “thank you.”

This went on for maybe ten minutes.

As I kept repeating the phrases, I started wondering what I was doing it for.

Was I trying to turn the power back on?

If so, wasn’t that over-ruling the Divine, which may have turned it off in the first place?

I decided what I was doing was cleaning myself of anything in me not accepting the truth of the situation: the power was off, the room was dark and cold, and there was nothing I could do about it.

I was doing the cleansing method to get to a place of peace. I wasn’t trying to beg the Divine for anything, though I was aware that I’d prefer to have the power on. What I was doing instead was releasing the interference within me that might stop me from enjoying the moment.

So I kept silently chanting.

And the power came back on.

It would have come back on sooner or later, anyway, of course.

But by spending my time getting to inner peace, I was nice and warm inside.

All is well.

Joe

PS - Some enterprising soul put the above T-shirt on eBay this morning. Smart move. I instantly bought it. I’m a Panoz owner and Francine says to wear the T-shirt with pride. Of course, on cold days like today, it’d be wiser to wear a sweatshirt.

This Cat Asks "What the —?"

By Dr. Joe Vitale - January 16th, 2007

Snow?

In Central Texas?

Yes - and here’s proof.

Spike seems confused.

No hot tub for me today.
Even my gym looks un-inviting and cold.

Law of Attraction Require Action or "Effort"?

By Dr. Joe Vitale - January 16th, 2007

One of the biggest points of argument when people talk about the law of attraction is the idea of action.

Many fans of the law of attraction think you don’t take any action. You simply sit like a good magnet and wait for your vibes to slide the thing you want over to your chair.

I believe that you usually if not always have to take action of some sort, but that your action isn’t effort if it comes from your heart.

That’s the key difference.

People run marathons, lift weights, climb mountains, write books, travel on horseback, jump out of planes, make hundreds of sales calls a day, and much more.

It’s all action.

But if they do it because they want to do it, because it bubbles out of their passion to do it, then it’s not effort.

Again, the law of attraction doesn’t mean you don’t do anything; it means what you do is effort-free.

For example, I write an astonishing amount of books, articles and blog posts. If you didn’t like writing, you’d think what I’m doing is gruelling. But I love what I do. So my action isn’t effort. It’s simply right action for me.

If you think running up a mountain is insane, you won’t take that action because if you did, it would require enormous effort.

When you practice what you learn from the movie The Secret, things do begin to come to you without much effort or action on your part. But that doesn’t mean you won’t have anything to do.

I was able to attract a new car — namely Francine — by knowing what I wanted and then taking action when prompted from the inside to drive over to San Antonio one day.

To me, the law of attraction works to make life easier, but not because you don’t take action, but because the action you take is natural for you.

Ao Akua,

Joe

PS - Part of this blog was inspired by seeing famous bodybuilder Frank Zane get in the best shape of recent years — at age 64 — by working his butt off, practically starving, doing as much as 90 minutes of cardio a day, and working out three times a day. Was it action? You bet. Was it effort? For you and me, it would be incredible effort. For him, it was right action. I’m sure he’d admit that it was “effort” to do, but it was a chosen effort. That, to me, is the kind of action you want to take. He attracted his ideal body, but he did it with right action — action that he knew to take based on the ideal he wanted to attract.

Software Review: Improve Writing with a "Click"?

By Dr. Joe Vitale - January 15th, 2007

A few days ago I heard about a new software program that lets you test your headlines and sentences to make them more riveting.

It had the odd name of Glyphius.

People have created writing software to help with your writing before, and most of it is lame, so I was pretty skeptical.

But I went to the site over at http://outrageous.glyphius.hop.clickbank.net/ and poked around. Since my friend Brian Keith Voiles strongly recommends Glyphius, I thought I would give it a whirl.

I didn’t expect for it to do much, but I figured the low price was worth the story of me trying it. So I bought it.

It was a breeze to download. But when I clicked on Glyphius, a simple screen popped up and I had no idea what to do.

I went back to the download page, watched the online video tutorial, and then went back to Glyphius.

I typed in a headline and let the software test it. It supposedly looks at your headline and compares it to a huge database of tested words, phrases, and other headlines. If you scored low, you change your headline with a word or two, or some punctuation, and test it again. You keep trying to create a headline or sentence with a higher score.

This was fascinating. I became addicted to “the game” of seeing if I could improve my headline. I was learning as I went along, too. While I always thought the word “you” would increase a headline’s pulling power, according to Glyphius, it actually makes it worse.

For example, the original headline for this blog post was “How to Improve Your Writing.”

I plugged it into Glyphius and it came back with a low score.

I’m supposed to be a top copywriter, so this score surprised me.

I then played with dropping the “how” and the “you”, both determined to be negative words by Glyphius.

“Improve Writing” scored higher than “How to Improve Your Writing.”

That’s interesting and maybe even disturbing. After all, I should know more than Glyphius.

I then wondered if a question mark would make a difference. It did, and brought my score higher.

I then wondered if saying this is a “Software Review” would make a difference. It did, and again my score was higher.

Finally, I played with quotation marks, and again the score was higher.

As you can see, Glyphius helped me go from an OK headline to a much more powerful, even hypnotic headline.

I’m now a fan of Glyphius. If there’s anything missing, it’s an on-screen list of ways or prompts to change your headline. All of that is in my own software, Hypnotic Writing Wizard, so I think using both could make you one kick-butt writer.

Check it out at http://outrageous.glyphius.hop.clickbank.net/

PS - This morning Mark Ryan sent me the text for our next subliminal manifestation DVD. The original headline he gave me was SKYROCKET TO YOUR NEXT LEVEL OF SELLING…SIMPLY BY WATCHING TV !!! I plugged it into Glyphius, played around, and came up with the much stronger and shorter headline: SKYROCKET SELLING…SIMPLY BY WATCHING TV! Pretty cool. http://outrageous.glyphius.hop.clickbank.net/ is where you can learn more. Go see.
